About the Role

AIC Kijabe Hospital is seeking a Coordinator, KRPON Program to support leadership, coordination, and quality improvement within the Kenya Registered Perioperative Nursing (KRPON) Program. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead, School of Nursing, to ensure effective curriculum implementation, student mentorship, clinical training, and overall program excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the effective management and coordination of the KRPON Program.
  • Oversee implementation of the approved KRPON curriculum.
  • Assist in preparation, management, and control of the program budget.
  • Ensure provision and supervision of learning resources in clinical areas.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and identify program risks.
  • Develop and implement teaching timetables and master rotation plans for educators and clinical instructors.
  • Coordinate and oversee student mentorship programs.
  • Participate in classroom and clinical teaching, assessment, and evaluation of students.
  • Collaborate with other departments in budget planning and program management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university.
  • Higher Diploma in Kenya Registered Perioperative Nursing (KRPON).
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, including:
    • A minimum of 2 years in teaching/lecturing, or
    • 2 years as an educational institution administrator with exposure to adult learning.
  • Valid registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
  • Strong understanding of national teaching standards and nursing education requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and mentorship skills.
